UNEP Industy and Environment Office


The birth of the UNEP Industry and Environment Office in Paris. In 1975, Maurice Strong appointed Leon de Rosen to head the office. The office has plays a major part in engaging the private sector to consider sustainable development issues.

The Task Force of the United Nations on new information technologies and communication received strong support from  Maurice Strong.
